What silk flowers are, and what they are not
Silk flowers are not made of plastic sheet. Each petal is cut from fabric, shaped over heat, and coloured in layers so the tone shifts from base to tip. A silk peony has the slight translucency of the real thing when you hold it towards a window. A moulded one does not.
That is the whole difference, and it is the reason silk sits at a different price. You are paying for hours of handwork, not for material.
Why we stock Silk-ka specifically
We tested a lot of silk before settling. Silk-ka gets three things right that most brands miss: the stems are wired heavily enough to hold a curve, the leaves are not glossy, and the colours are muted rather than saturated. Saturation is the fastest way to spot a fake from across a room.
Their orchids in particular hold up in a hotel lobby or a boardroom, which is where most of ours end up.
