Sustainability at Daily Flowers
Sustainability in Our Flowers
When selecting our flowers, we consider the MPS certification. This certification allows us to see how growers score compared to others in the industry. A grower with an A+ rating performs exceptionally well across various sustainability aspects. Our rose grower, Van der Drift Roses, not only delivers the highest quality roses but also places a strong emphasis on sustainability.
Sustainability in Our Packaging
In addition to focusing on sustainability in our flowers, we believe it is essential for our packaging to be sustainable as well. The sleeves for our bouquets are made of FSC-certified cardboard. The FSC certification ensures that wood or paper products come from responsibly managed forests. According to FSC, good forest management means meeting the highest standards in social, environmental, and economic criteria.
Reducing Waste
We strive to minimize flower waste as much as possible. Of course, it is impossible for us to eliminate waste entirely. After a few days, any unsold bouquets are removed from our vending machine in Hoog Catharijne. These flowers are then donated to nursing homes to bring a bit of joy to the elderly.
We Are Committed to Sustainability
We do everything we can to be as sustainable as possible! Do you have any good suggestions for us? Feel free to get in touch—we’d love to hear from you!
