Zielinski and Rozen at Daily Flowers

Zielinski and Rozen name their scents after what is in them. No poetry on the label, just Black Pepper, Vetiver, Neroli, Amber. You know what you are smelling before you open it.

What is Zielinski and Rozen?

A perfume house from Tel Aviv, founded on one idea: name the ingredients and let people choose on smell rather than on story. The bottles are plain, the labels are a list, and the scents are unusually direct.

The range runs from a single accord to layered compositions. Black Vanilla is warm and almost edible. Vetiver and Lemon is dry and sharp. Orange and Jasmine sits between the two and is the one most people start with.

Diffuser, candle or hand care?

The diffuser is the one that does the work. It fills a hall or a bathroom without you touching it, and the 212 ml bottle runs for months. The 85 ml suits a smaller room. Refills are sold separately, so the reeds and the glass stay.

A candle needs you in the room. It is for an evening, not for a house. The hand cream, hand soap, shower gel and body cream carry the same scents, so one scent can run through a whole bathroom.

How do reed diffusers work?

The reeds draw oil up from the bottle and release it into the air. Nothing burns, nothing plugs in. Turn the reeds every week or two and the scent comes back stronger, because the dry ends get wet again.

More reeds means more scent. Start with half of them in a bedroom and all of them in a hallway. When the bottle empties, buy a refill rather than a new set.

Scent does not survive a photograph. Almost everyone who buys Zielinski and Rozen from us has smelled it first, which is why the full range stands open at our Flagship Store on the Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam.
