Mother's Day always falls on a Sunday. That is where most orders go wrong, because our weekend delivery works differently from our weekday delivery. Everything below is arranged around that, because the flowers are the easy part.

When is Mother's Day?

The second Sunday of May in the Netherlands and in most of Belgium. The next one is 9 May 2027.

Antwerp is the exception. There Mother's Day is celebrated on 15 August, so if you are sending to Antwerp, check which date the family keeps before you order.

Order for Saturday, not Sunday

On weekdays we deliver through our carrier across the Netherlands, Flanders and Brussels. At weekends our own couriers drive, and they cover the Randstad only.

So outside the Randstad, Sunday delivery is not possible and Saturday is the day to aim for. Flowers cut on Friday are still at their best on Sunday morning, so nothing is lost by sending a day early.

What to send

Peonies are in season in May and they are the reason May is a good month to be a mother. They arrive closed and open over three or four days, which stretches the gift out.

Pink and soft pastel go out most. White reads formal and works better for a grandmother than for a mother. If she has a garden, send something she cannot grow herself, which usually means orchids or peonies rather than tulips.

Our Mother's Day bouquets

Absolutely Amazing Flowers and Pastel Princess are the two that carry the day. Cherry Blossom Chic is lighter and more graphic. Chic Burgundy Beauty goes the other way, deep and wine-toned. Wonderfully Wild suits a mother who prefers a garden to a florist.

Ordering and delivery

We deliver Monday to Friday in the Netherlands, Flanders and Brussels. Orders placed before 09:00 arrive the same day. Shipping is EUR 7,00 in the Netherlands and we drop it from EUR 50. In Flanders and Brussels it is EUR 9,95, dropped from EUR 75.

At weekends our own couriers take over and the cut-off moves to 10:00. Around Amsterdam and Utrecht we charge nothing, elsewhere in the Randstad it is EUR 9,95.
